The System is Down

March 22, 2007 at 10:52 pm (Random)

I’m not dead.

My neighbor, however, has died. Or moved. Or otherwise disconnected/secured his internet access, because I no longer get free wifi at my house. So here I am, through the blood and tears of banging my head aginst the wall due to free netzero dial-up access, posting a blog update. I do this for you, my loyal readers. I can’t believe it has been a month since I have posted anything.

I hate weathermen. You can not predict the weather in the pacific northwest, from February through about May or so. The other day it was supposed to be cold and rainy, as of the 8 AM forecast, and all day it was bright and sunny, said the man on the airwaves, bright and sunny. The epitome of a Portland Spring Day. I base my entire day on the morning forecast, and it is almost always wrong.

I was in Pioneer Courthouse Square today, staring up at the skyline, and one of the volunteer people said “can I help you find something, sir?” and I chuckled and said “no, thank you.” I love looking like a tourist in my hometown. I hope I never become so jaded that I lose sight of the wonders of what we humas have done to our environment. I mean that in a good way.

I am actually typing this up off-line, and hoping I can connect long enough to post it.

I hate Windows, and I hate Microsoft. I am buying a Mac as soon as I can afford it. Thank you TSS, for inadvertently showing me the light.

I totally have a thing for the girl I work with. I thought I learned my lesson last time, but alas, I don’t think I did.

I experienced a strange sensation the other day…I think it is is called happiness. It has been almost 2 years since I have felt that.

I took some great pictures of Waterfront Park in full cherry-blossom bloom yesterday, but thanks to my dead neighbor, I can’t post them. I could but I can’t sit here all night.

If you are reading this, chances are I haven’t talked to you in a long time. Why don’t you call me this weekend? I have no plans, and I love that.

Title reference…click me!!

Well, it’s going to be a while. Year or 2, probably.

I’d been wanting a Mac ever since college. Well, right up until the time I bought my first video ipod last year. Owning that piece of shit cured me of Mac envy and I now vow to never purchase another Mac product.

Let me just say this: there’s a reason that a good Mac costs a few grand, while a Dell with Windows XP pro costs 700 bucks. You get what you pay for. I don’t think Mac computers are quite as tailored to the throw-away culture as little portable music players are.

Yeah, next time I buy an mp3 player, it will NOT be an ipod. I did, however, just purchase a new Sony Vaio laptop.
